Pasta FACE!

Here's Scarlet before Thanksgiving getting REALLY MESSY while having Pasta & meat sauce for dinner. I think she really liked it. But Ma-ma did not like the cleanup afterwards. As you can see, it was everywhere!

One of Da-da's favorites! A true "classic" Scarlet grin/smirk!

What are you doing with that wash cloth Ma-ma??

Halloween 2008 - The Prettiest little Dorthy EVER!

Is it considered late when you post Halloween pictures a few weeks from Valentines Day? Oh, we are SO bad! Well better late than never I guess. Here's Scarlet's super cute Halloween costume that her Nana made for her. We couldn't find ruby-red slippers in her size anywhere, so Daddy made her some. We bought solid red shoes in her size and then Da-da sprayed them with contact glue and sprinkled red glitter on them. The shoes looked great. But we will find glitter for the next two years everywhere Scarlet walked that day! The pics show her in her costume and with her little "Toto" dog in the basket. She went trick-or-treating at her Ma-ma's work and her Da-Da's work earlier in the day. And then to our next door neighbor's house Halloween eve (in last few pics).

Playtime in Scarlet's room

Here's just a few cute pictures of Scarlet playing in her room from back just before Halloween. Yeah, yeah, we're now even more behind with our home office room move. But finally we're getting back to blog posts. Up next - the Halloween photos!

The prettiest little OU cheerleader EVER!

What has caused the Oklahoma Sooners to do so well this year? Well Scarlet of course! After she donned her Sooner Cheerleader outfit, Oklahoma never lost again this year. OU set a scoring record, won the Big 12 Championship, ended the season ranked #1 in the nation, had their quarterback Sam Bradford win the Heisman, and are going to play for the National Championship in a few days! So it seems obvious to us that Scarlet's GREAT job cheering for the Sooners had a major impact on them! :)

Here's a whole series of the super-cute little cheerleader playing with some fun ballons inside and then playing outside on a warm October day.

Happy New Year everybody! And GO SOONERS!

Chair of 3 Generations of Shockley's

When I was little, my father gave me a little wooden rocking chair that was his when he was a child. It was something I sat in and used for years until I got too big for it. It sat in our living room near the fire place and I dragged it all over the house to sit in it (and even outside as the picture below shows). Back in October I thought Scarlet was about the right size for it, so I retrieved the chair from our attic storage, cleaned it up, and presented it to her one day. She sat right down in it and has been using it ever since just like her Daddy did - dragging it around and using it where and when she likes. I think her favorite thing is sitting watching cartoons in our bedroom in the mornings while Mama and Da-da finish getting ready for work! :)

"I like to move it around and look cute behind it!"

Ah, cartoons and bunny - life is good!

"I'm ready to go to school this morning Da-Da!"

So, SO Far behind - catch up photos.....

This is an official Scarlet blog apology to everyone. We have really been awful at getting ANY new pictures of Scarlet out here on her blog. And it is not like we've stopped taking pictures. Far from it. In fact we've taken a HUNDREDS of photos of her over the last few months. It just seems that we've had so much going on, that the blog is always put on the bag burner. Sorry everybody. We will try our best to do better! I've got a bunch of pictures selected to go out here from October and November and there's a whole lot of new December pictures coming after that as well. But first, here's a few missing September photos. We'll call these the orange plaid dress with bunny (and maybe a phone - one of her other favorite things - I know, it is starting way too early). Enjoy, and get ready for a lot of catch up pictures to come in the next few days!!!

The many expressions of Scarlet

Even though Scarlet's hair is a little "disheveled," I thought these were cute pictures. We are just now getting to the point where she will leave in barrettes that keep her hair out of her eyes.

Sleepy look

The "you are taking ANOTHER picture" look

The "you're silly" look. This is sometimes followed up with a fake laugh
