Too big? You decide...

A friend lent us this swing as her little one had outgrown it and it was still in great shape. I started putting her in it from almost the minute we brought her home, but she didnt seem to like it until she was about 4.5 months old. We put her in it a couple of weeks ago and I personally think shes now TOO big for it as you can see from the pictures. I was scared she was going to tip the thing over as she wanted to sit straight up and lean forward! Daddy says I am being over-protective. What do you think?

Yummy???

Scarlet started solid foods (cereal) about a month ago and here are some pictures (finally) of the big event. We are working on fruit now but she still doesn't seem too thrilled with it as she would much rather suck/eat the warm washcloth we use to clean her face.

"Alright, I finally get to eat like Mommy & Daddy! I bet their food is YUMMY!"

"Wait a minute, this doesn't taste like Momma's milk!"

"This doesn't seem good at all!"

"Maybe if a recoil in horror they'll stop putting this gunk in my mouth."

"Ack! If only I could get up and run!"

"I just can't begin to express how disappointed I am in this 'gruel'."

"Momma, how could you do this to me!"

"And Daddy, shame on you for just standing there taking pictures and not helping me escape!"

Daddy sure is fun, but Momma is the ONE!

Scarlet thinks Daddy is a whole lot of fun - especially when he carefully tosses her in the air and gravity tickles her tummy and brings out the biggest laughs and giggles! But when she is tired or grumpy, nobody in the universe is as comforting as her Momma!

My Momma is the bestest!

Scarlet's many social engagements.

Scarlet often has a very busy social calendar that allows her to meet many of her fans. And when Mommy and Daddy remember to take the camera along and take pictures, people can see Scarlet visiting with these people. That is of course IF Mommy & Daddy get off their duffs and then actually post the pics to Scarlet's blog! (Sorry everybody, we hope to get caught up over the next few weeks.)

Well as a fine example of "better-late-than-never", here's a group of photos of Scarlet and some of the people she's been seen with over the last couple of months.

Long-time family friends Charlie & Melodee Tamashiro finally got to meet Scarlet in late September. Charlie has known Scarlet's Daddy since he was just about Scarlet's age!

Here's Scarlet's Mommy's Daddy - Granpa Steve holding a slightly grumpy little girl last month.

Mommy's good friend Deb Tripp had a nice lunch with "I love giggles" Scarlet and Mommy last month.

Go Cowboys!

About a month (yes, we are late posting the pictures) we all went to a Dallas Cowboys game (when they played the Rams) and we got to sit in my company's suite. Sweet! Ron and I talked later about how loud it was and that we didn't remember that part (we're parents for sure in that we're now worried about the volume level being too much for Scarlet). But it didn't seem to bother her too much. She took a nap around the 3rd quarter loud or not.

Family picture. Not too bad, eh?

It was warm & sunny that day and someone needed to wear a hat!

Scarlet takes everything in as we wait for the crowd to thin out after the game.

The view of the field from inside the Aramark suite.

GO COWBOYS! Tony Romo put on a show & they beat the Rams 35-7.

Scarlet seems to be very popular, wherever we go.

Scarlet says "HAPPY HALLOWEEN!"

The intent was to get these out ON Halloween, but you know how that goes.... While Scarlet didn't actually go Trick or Treating, she did get dressed up for the occasion.

Mom trying to figure where the head goes

Could she BEE any cuter?

Scarlet gets her exercise

Talked Ron into putting the "exersaucer" together now that Scarlet is technically old enough to play in it. She seems to enjoy it although the little flower (over her right shoulder in the pictures below) seem to taunt her at times.....

Grandma's house!

Sorry for the delay in getting new pics out. Having a little one in the house sure takes away any of that "free time" you are use to having!

About a month ago, I combined another work trip with a trip over to see my grandparents (Scarlets great-grandparent's). Decided to drive over as they live in Northern Arkansas and would have had to rent a car anyway. My sister and her 3 year old took the trip with us to help with the driving. We did GREAT on the way over, but on the way back to Dallas, Scarlet decided she was at her limit about 2 hours from home. We ended up stopping at my Dad's in Ardmore so that she could get a break from the car seat, and stayed overnight. Good to see him and my step mom, but wasn't exactly "the plan." I cant tell you how great it was to see Scarlet with my grandfather for the first time as he is 92 years old! I got LOTS of pictures (and video) but here are a few of my favorites.

Nana met us at Braum's on the way over.

Nana, Scarlet and Logan. Logan decided he wanted to keep his bike helmet on. Wonder if people thought he was a "special needs" child?

Great Grandpa Kermit and Scarlet

Great Grandma Georgia and Scarlet

Logan and Scarlet. Doesn't look like hes enjoying this much, does he?

I love this picture.

Been a while since they had a little one in the house....

This one is Ron's favorite. Look at that little grin...

Chillin...

About a month or so ago Nana found this outfit for Scarlet while we were out shopping (poor little thing has hardly a thing to wear). :o It was too big at the time so I told her I would take a picture of her once she could wear it. Well.... shes now big enough. In fact, it was pretty tight on her! We caught her "chillin" by the pool in said outfit so we decided to take pictures for the blog AND Nana.

Meet me in St Louis

Scarlet took her very first plane ride last month! I volunteered to fly up to St Louis for work if I could take Scarlet with me. My best friend Amy just happens to live there, so she kept Scarlet while I went to work for a few hours. BONUS! Heres some pictures of our trip. Scarlet was perfect! Slept and played on the way there and slept all the way back! I think I could actually do this by myself again!

I read that babies should suck something while taking off to prevent their ears from popping. Scarlet had no problem with that as she loves her pacifier.

Scarlet and Aunt Amy. The one person in the world that spoils her more than Mommy and Daddy!

This was the first photo I took while sitting on Paul's lap......

And this is the second. I think she warmed up to him.

Friends, Katie and Teri Jo came over to check this cute little girl out. I think she was a hit!
