Fun with the laundry hamper

Ron and Scarlet decided to take pictures IN the empty clothes hamper while I was at work one day. According to Daddy, Scarlet thought it was pretty fun. Bet she wont think its so fun in about 12 or so years when I ask her to help me out by emptying the contents into the washing machine.... Better keep these pictures handy.

Scarlet's new high chair

We finally went out and bought Scarlet a high chair vs feeding her in the Bumbo on the kitchen counter. (Yes, we know a lot of you shudder at that thought). Here are some pictures that Ron took a month or so ago. Luckily the cream colored cover/pad is washable! Didn't know that a high chair could like like real furniture, did ya?

"My Adidas..." - sings Scarlet

One day in January shortly after the new year began, we found Scarlet a pretty pink & brown (Momma's favorite color combo for Scarlet) 2 piece Adidas track suit. And the next day or so when we dressed her in it to go out for the day, Daddy sat her down to take some pictures of Miss "Super Cute". And while she didn't bust out an old school Run-DMC rap, she did pose several adorable looks - when she wasn't getting distracted by the kitty-cat (as you'll see in some of the pics). Daddy even stood her up in the corner of the couch to capture how she'll look one day not that far away when she starts walking (though after seeing the pictures, Momma exclaimed "no, she looks too big like that").

Sitin' & Playin'

Alright, here's the last of the 07 pics. One morning around Christmas, Daddy had Scarlet sitting on her play mat in her room. The sun coming in the window that morning was highlighting her hair real nicely, so I decided to grab the camera and experiment around to see what I could get. Well most of the real experimental shots were bad in that she was moving a little too much and creating very blurry images. But in between all the various shots, I did manage to get a few that were decent. There's the close-up "natural window light" one that I've had posted in the 2nd to the top picture in the right column is one. And here are the others now below.

Now that's a cute smile!

And this is pretty adorable too!

Scarlet in her new "Sassy" Jumper

One of Scarlet's Christmas gifts this year was a doorway "jumper" from Sassy. Which is kind of appropriate for her with her initials being SAS. Once we got it setup and secure we put her in it to see what she thought about it. As you can see in the pictures, at first she was a little unsure about it. But then she started to move around a little and did a few small hops. Now well over a month later, she will perform more actual jumps in it, though she still prefers to really only jump high when Daddy gets goofy and jumps along with her.

Scarlet visits her Grand Uncle & Aunt after Christmas

The day after Christmas we dropped by my Uncle Wayne & Aunt June's house for a quick second visit before we got on the road to come home to Texas. Here's three cute pics of Scarlet sitting on my Aunt June's lap while my Uncle gets Scarlet to giggle and laugh at his antics. It is so wonderful for me to see her with them. I just wish we lived closer so we could do it more often. - RS

The Christmas Pictures - Part 2

Part 2 - Christmas Day

Christmas Day morning Scarlet's Aunt Shaunna, Uncle Wade, & Cousin Logan came over to Nana's house to exchange gifts and see what Santa brought little Miss Scarlet. After getting her up and putting on her cute little "1st Christmas" Santa cap (which she only tolerated for about 10 min max) she was ready to dig in. Santa brought her a Fisher Price "Learning Puppy" which she seemed really indifferent about. And then with each present she received, she seemed much more interested in the wrapping paper, bows and ribbons than any of the actual gifts (as you can see in the pics). All in all it was a great first Christmas for her. But by the end of it all she just started to tucker out and so of course she had to get all comfy in her Nana's arms.

Scarlet is ready to see what all the excitement is about this morning.

Aunt Shaunna gets a cool blender and yet Scarlet is SO jealous of her funny silver hat.

Sorry Da-da, the Santa Cap had to come off.

Aren't I much cuter with my cap off anyway??

What? What's everyone looking at? Did Aunt Shaunna do something to my hair?

Oooh, shape blocks Nana! Now those look fun!
(and they are as she has been playing with them most every day)

The present I like best so far though is this COOL green ribbon!

Oh shiny, soft green ribbon how you feel so good in my hands.

It's been a busy morning Nana, I think I'll just relax here in your lap with my "Paci" and my favorite ribbon.

The Christmas Pictures - Part 1

Part 1 - Christmas Eve

Yes finally we're getting around to posting Scarlet's First Christmas pictures. Hey, a month late isn't THAT bad! :)

Scarlet had a great Christmas. She got to see a BUNCH of her cousins on Christmas Eve as we went to my Uncle Wayne and Aunt June's on Christmas Eve. Scarlet loves children and got to have her fill with her cousins Karson and Kendall really wanting to carry her around like a little doll. She loved the attention and all the excitement that was going on there at my Uncle's. Then we left to go back to Nana's house so Scarlet could eat, have her bath, and get ready for bed. Once she got her "I Love Santa" jammies on, she was all ready to wait up for Santa's arrival with her Nana. Daddy took the time to try some experimental pics of her with hanging snowflake ornaments in the foreground and Christmas tree lights in the background. They didn't come out quite like I hoped, but Scarlet enjoyed the time with Nana. Try as she might though, little Scarlet tuckered out before too long and was good little girl asleep in her bed when Santa delivered her toys.

Next up, Part 2 - Christmas Day.

Scarlet wants to play with cousin Karson.

And Karson was happy to comply and lounge around with Scarlet.

Scarlet loved being held by Karson!

Big sister Kendall gets her turn holding a giggly little girl.

Before leaving Scarlet says bye bye to her cousin Hadley.

Hadley is three years old and is battling "Krabbe's Disease" (Globoid Cell Leukodystrophy). Be sure to visit Hadley's web page at http://hopeforhadley.com/.

Scarlet with her Nana while attempting to wait up on Santa.

Oh boy! When does this Santa person get here?

Will Santa know I'm at Nana's house tonight?

Daddy, what is a Santa Claus anyway?
