St Louis/Superbowl party

Amy bought this cute little dress for Scarlet for Valentines day. Ummm.... we wore this well into March.

Shes pretty good on an airplane!

When you visit places without a highchair, you have to get creative.

This may be my favorite picture from this trip.

Amy showing Scarlet's "valentines" bottom. Notice Paul is still smiling in this picture. Must be early in the game.

Katie, Joe and Paul. Waiting on Amy to say "come eat."

Please move to Dallas Aunt Amy.

Heres some more from February. Ron, Scarlet and I went to St Louis to visit Amy (mixed in with some work time for me). It just happened to be over Superbowl weekend, so Amy did her "party planning" thing. While the food was good (great chili PBI) the game didnt turn out how some of us would have liked. (Paul is a HUGE Patriots fan). At least they got to see Scarlet though....

Nana's visit

As promised, here are some pics that are finally ready for posting (yep- Ron "doctored" them up). These were taken in February when my mom and Bill were visiting. I keep telling my mom that even though Scarlet doesnt get to see her Nana very often, she just KNOWS that she's grandma. Weird how kids are that way.

Scarlet's FIRST VIDEO!!!!

Well not actually her first video, just the first video of her here on the blog. We've recorded a lot of video of her in Hi-Def, but we don't have the software to capture, edit, and convert it out for publishing on the web (not yet at least). But our little still camera does capture video halfway decent, so I tried recording Scarlet with it today while she was playing after she had her lunch after daycare. She was in quite a talkative mood! And she started doing the cutest little double hand wave/move to the "ABC's" of her learning table. The enclosed clip has her talking and doing that for almost the entire 4 minutes and 19 seconds.

Oh and just to let everyone know, we have about a bizillion pictures to post from the last two months. Yes we're sorry that we got so behind. Between all of us being sick (thank you daycare germs) and all the million other things going on, the blog kind of got forgotten about - "sorry". And since there's no way to get properly caught up in an orderly fashion, we're just gonna start posting stuff in rapid fire as Da-Da get's them ready. So get ready for a super typhoon of Scarlet coming your way over the next week or so!!!!

Who needs toys?

Realized today that its going on a month since we last posted anything! Ron's going to kill me for this but here's a picture of the REAL Scarlet. Birthmark and all. I think its important that she know that it's nothing to be embarrassed about, its just part of her. So there!

This picture was taken a couple of months ago when we found her playing with a plastic hanger (and I tried to give her a real toy instead). Yep, a hanger. No telling how many toys she has around this house and she decides this is what she wants to play with. Groan.....

Fun with the laundry hamper

Ron and Scarlet decided to take pictures IN the empty clothes hamper while I was at work one day. According to Daddy, Scarlet thought it was pretty fun. Bet she wont think its so fun in about 12 or so years when I ask her to help me out by emptying the contents into the washing machine.... Better keep these pictures handy.

Scarlet's new high chair

We finally went out and bought Scarlet a high chair vs feeding her in the Bumbo on the kitchen counter. (Yes, we know a lot of you shudder at that thought). Here are some pictures that Ron took a month or so ago. Luckily the cream colored cover/pad is washable! Didn't know that a high chair could like like real furniture, did ya?

"My Adidas..." - sings Scarlet

One day in January shortly after the new year began, we found Scarlet a pretty pink & brown (Momma's favorite color combo for Scarlet) 2 piece Adidas track suit. And the next day or so when we dressed her in it to go out for the day, Daddy sat her down to take some pictures of Miss "Super Cute". And while she didn't bust out an old school Run-DMC rap, she did pose several adorable looks - when she wasn't getting distracted by the kitty-cat (as you'll see in some of the pics). Daddy even stood her up in the corner of the couch to capture how she'll look one day not that far away when she starts walking (though after seeing the pictures, Momma exclaimed "no, she looks too big like that").

Sitin' & Playin'

Alright, here's the last of the 07 pics. One morning around Christmas, Daddy had Scarlet sitting on her play mat in her room. The sun coming in the window that morning was highlighting her hair real nicely, so I decided to grab the camera and experiment around to see what I could get. Well most of the real experimental shots were bad in that she was moving a little too much and creating very blurry images. But in between all the various shots, I did manage to get a few that were decent. There's the close-up "natural window light" one that I've had posted in the 2nd to the top picture in the right column is one. And here are the others now below.

Now that's a cute smile!

And this is pretty adorable too!

Scarlet in her new "Sassy" Jumper

One of Scarlet's Christmas gifts this year was a doorway "jumper" from Sassy. Which is kind of appropriate for her with her initials being SAS. Once we got it setup and secure we put her in it to see what she thought about it. As you can see in the pictures, at first she was a little unsure about it. But then she started to move around a little and did a few small hops. Now well over a month later, she will perform more actual jumps in it, though she still prefers to really only jump high when Daddy gets goofy and jumps along with her.

Scarlet visits her Grand Uncle & Aunt after Christmas

The day after Christmas we dropped by my Uncle Wayne & Aunt June's house for a quick second visit before we got on the road to come home to Texas. Here's three cute pics of Scarlet sitting on my Aunt June's lap while my Uncle gets Scarlet to giggle and laugh at his antics. It is so wonderful for me to see her with them. I just wish we lived closer so we could do it more often. - RS
