The Christmas Card photos

This year Ginger and I finally joined the ranks of the "photo Christmas card" families. And what better time to do so with many of our friends and family who may have not yet had a chance to see little Scarlet. Plus even those who had would still love to see how big she has grown and how she looks at 6.5 months old.

So on the second weekend in December we had our little photo session. We got Scarlet a cute little red dress and both Momma and Daddy wore red to match. Of course it is no problem taking pictures of just Scarlet - Daddy has had LOTS of practice with that. But to get all three of us in a photo, there's a problem. What is going to get Scarlet to look at the camera? Normally that is one of us, but how do you work that in a family photo you're taking from home? Fortunately we have a super nice family as next-door neighbors and they helped us out by coming over that day and playing the role of getting Scarlet's attention and getting her to smile for the camera. It still took quite a few attempts, but in the end we got the shot we were looking for. Here's both the pics that we used on the card along with a few "bonus" shots that were good too - but couldn't land one of the four spots on the card.

With her fancy Pearls on....

Like any little girl Scarlet loves to look all fancy, but Momma won't let her have any jewelery for fear of her eating it. So what's the next best thing? Well a onesie with the pearl necklace already printed on it of course! Here's our little doll sporting her lovely pearls just before Christmas!

Sooner Scarlet and Cousin Logan.

While we were up in Oklahoma for Thanksgiving, Saturday the 24th was the day of the big "Bedlam" football game between the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University. Since Scarlet's Mommy and Daddy are big OU fans, her Big Pop (Ginger's step Dad - Bill) was kind enough to go out and buy Miss Scarlet the proper OU attire for the day. And while sitting in her Bumbo at the kitchen table, Daddy thought he'd take some pictures of Scarlet in her smart little crimson outfit. But with just-turned 4 year old Cousin Logan close by, everything turned into a mugging for the camera event! Here's a good number of the pics from that "photo session".

Scarlet's first Thanksgiving.

Alright we're gonna try and get caught up this week in posting LOTS of pictures of Scarlet. But we have Thanksgiving - Christmas which is a LOT of stuff! Well to get started, here's some pictures of G & I's families with Scarlet during Thanksgiving. Scarlet was great and had fun with everyone. I know Ginger's Mom ("Nana") really enjoyed getting to spend some extra time with Scarlet on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving as G & I also went to Ginger's 20th high school reunion activities those nights.

Scarlet thought her Daddy's first cousins Mike & Pat Craig were a LOT of fun!

Scarlet's Daddy loves seeing her with his Uncle Wayne!

Daddy's Aunt June sure has the "nana" touch from all her grandkids and great grandkids!

Pumpkins, pumpkins, everywhere

Cant believe its been nearly three weeks since we have posted anything! The holidays really caught up with us this year as having another little person in the house doesn't allow you much time for shopping, decorating, visiting, etc.... Still a very good problem to have as we wouldn't change it for the world. Attached are some pics we had forgotten about and decided we should share as they turned out great! They were taken in October at the Dallas Arboretum. They truly have the most amazing Pumpkin Patch! Hope you love them as much as we do. Amazing how much Scarlet has grown just since October!

Too big? You decide...

A friend lent us this swing as her little one had outgrown it and it was still in great shape. I started putting her in it from almost the minute we brought her home, but she didnt seem to like it until she was about 4.5 months old. We put her in it a couple of weeks ago and I personally think shes now TOO big for it as you can see from the pictures. I was scared she was going to tip the thing over as she wanted to sit straight up and lean forward! Daddy says I am being over-protective. What do you think?

Yummy???

Scarlet started solid foods (cereal) about a month ago and here are some pictures (finally) of the big event. We are working on fruit now but she still doesn't seem too thrilled with it as she would much rather suck/eat the warm washcloth we use to clean her face.

"Alright, I finally get to eat like Mommy & Daddy! I bet their food is YUMMY!"

"Wait a minute, this doesn't taste like Momma's milk!"

"This doesn't seem good at all!"

"Maybe if a recoil in horror they'll stop putting this gunk in my mouth."

"Ack! If only I could get up and run!"

"I just can't begin to express how disappointed I am in this 'gruel'."

"Momma, how could you do this to me!"

"And Daddy, shame on you for just standing there taking pictures and not helping me escape!"
